A New Home on the Digital Spectrum
Today I’m excited to introduce something I’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes: PrideDMR.
PrideDMR is a safe, decentralized Digital Mobile Radio network built for and by the LGBTQIA+ amateur radio community and allies. The goal is simple — create a welcoming place on the RF spectrum where anyone can key up, be heard, and feel comfortable doing it.
No gatekeeping. No drama. Just radio.
Why PrideDMR Exists
Amateur radio has always been about experimentation, communication, and community.
But community only works when people feel safe participating.
PrideDMR was created to provide:
- A respectful on-air environment
- Open access for all compatible radios and hotspots
- Simple, modern network features
- Space for new voices in digital radio
This isn’t meant to replace existing DMR networks — it’s meant to add something new to the spectrum.
Network at a Glance
Right now the network is already alive and growing:
- 5 active talkgroups
- 8 connected hotspots
- 9 registered users
- Parrot available on TG 9990 for testing
Features Designed for Real Operators
PrideDMR includes the things operators actually need:
Custom Talkgroups
Communities, clubs, and interest groups can request their own talkgroups with quick approval.
Private Talkgroups
Hidden talkgroups in the 8000–8999 range allow whitelist-only access for private groups.
All Radios Welcome
Pi-Star, OpenGD77, MMDVM, and standard DMR radios all work.
If it speaks DMR, it belongs here.
Flexible Talkgroup Control
- Dynamic talkgroups subscribe automatically for 15 minutes when you transmit
- Auto-static mode keeps you parked on your last talkgroup
- Static subscriptions let you permanently pin talkgroups
Everything is designed to be simple and operator-friendly.
Signals Everywhere Talkgroup — TG 1000
To celebrate the launch, TG 1000 is now the official Signals Everywhere DMR talkgroup.
You can:
- Key up and chat live on the network
- Monitor TG 1000 directly from Discord voice
- Use it as a meeting place for Signals Everywhere listeners and viewers
If you’ve ever wanted a real-time Signals Everywhere hangout on RF, this is it.
How to Get Started
Joining PrideDMR only takes a few minutes:
- Register an account with your callsign and DMR ID
- Add your hotspot or radio and set your network password
- Key up on TG 9990 to test the parrot, then join the conversation
That’s it.
This Is Just the Beginning
PrideDMR is brand new, and like any radio project, it will evolve with the people who use it.
More talkgroups, more features, more operators — all shaped by the community itself.
If you believe amateur radio should be open, welcoming, and forward-looking, I invite you to join us on the network.

See you on the air. 🏳️🌈📡
